KELA’s mission is to provide young people with learning resources and opportunities for discovering their interests and developing skills that lead to career paths. KELA is about engaging with and inspiring people to continue to learn, creating longevity in Kenosha, and empowering the community by giving it a sense of pride.

Project Objective

Create and establish a brand identity for an audience of young people (ages 11-24) located in Kenosha, WI.

  • Environmental Graphics—mural, wayfinding, and signage

  • Wearables

  • Brand Guidelines Manual

Design Challenges

The Focus of this project was creating a coherent but unique design as we began to pull from outside and existing resources to form an identity unique to KELA. For our team to succeed, we highlighted the importance of feedback and user research from residents and locals in Kenosha and other communities. This proved to be one of our team's more difficult challenges due to our team being located outside of Kenosha.
